Unfortunately, lack of empathy and relatability is displayed more towards women creators. Most studio executives want to bet on newcomer men, simply because ‘they remind them of their younger days’. Why is it that, as children, we go to our mothers and grandmothers for storytelling sessions, but limit women from telling stories when we grow up? It is time to smash this glass ceiling for good.
The content we read or watch affects our behavior, emotions, relationships and identities. Studies suggest that when men and boys consume the engendered content, it makes them less misogynistic and more gender sensitive. Why see the world from the prism of only one perspective? Why not hear and see them all?
